Privacy Policy

Without an account (the default), VerseTab does not send personal data to our servers. Your preferences, reading progress, and prayer list are stored locally in your browser (and in your browser's built-in extension sync, if you have browser sync enabled).

Browser bookmarks are accessed only if you enable the bookmarks bar in Settings. VerseTab reads the titles, URLs, and folder structure of bookmarks in your browser's bookmarks bar and uses Chrome's Favicon API to display the corresponding website icons. This information is used only to render the bookmarks bar on your new tab page. VerseTab does not create, edit, move, or delete your bookmarks. Bookmark titles, URLs, folders, and icons are not stored by VerseTab, included in account sync, logged, or sent to our servers or third parties.

If you sign in (optional, for cross-device sync), we collect:

• Email address and display name: provided by Google Sign-In or by email/password registration, used only to identify your account. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; if you register with a password, the password is processed by Firebase and is never stored on our servers.
• Your synced data: your prayer list (the text you write), reading progress, and display preferences, stored on our servers (hosted on Cloudflare) so they follow you across devices.

We do not access your browsing history, inspect page content, monitor the websites you visit, collect analytics or location, or collect data from web pages. If you enable the bookmarks bar, VerseTab locally reads only the saved bookmark information described above. The extension communicates with api.versetab.com for daily content and optional account sync, and with image hosts for background photos; bookmark data is never included in those requests.

Your data is used solely to provide the extension's features: showing your prayers and progress on your own devices and, when enabled, displaying your browser bookmarks locally. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Synced data is kept while your account is active. To delete your data, email us at contact@versetab.com from your account email and we will remove your account and all synced data within 30 days. Signing out stops all further syncing; local data can be removed by uninstalling the extension.
